This week we were able to play basketball on Thursday night with the youth. We had them invite their friends to come play, so 2 non members were there!! I can't believe how hard it is to play in a carpet gym. There was literally no space, but we made it fun. The only thing that I can really do is just out run everyone, so that's what they had me do.
This week we have been focusing on finding people to teach, and we have been trying to avoid tracting as it is not effective at all. So we go around to public places to find people to speak with. This is something that we have been doing regularly, but since we have been in the apartment sick last week, and just started back up we were a little rusty. I guess the terms you use it or you lose it, is really true. I normally am decent at sparking up a conversation with people, but the first lady that we saw, I just blurted out, "Do you like Jesus?" I guess that worked out okay, because we are going by tonight to teach her. I guess you don't have to be that eloquent.
I had the opportunity to give a talk in sacrament meeting yesterday. I got a text on Saturday saying that they needed me to give a talk because someone bailed. So I gave a short talk. I didn't even write any of it down. I just got up and spoke for like 6 minutes and it was interesting to say the least.
Also this week we were walking around an apartment complex and this little kid just looks up from his bike and told my companion, Elder Olsen, that he looked like a guy from a scary movie that he saw. This kid was just five years old, so I just busted out laughing. It was pretty funny. Then when we were at the mall talking with these people, this lady wouldn't believe us when we kept telling her that we don't party on the weekends. I guess it's just the culture down here. I hope ya'll have a good week.
