Elder Maughan is leaving

This week has been so much fun for me, except for one thing. So transfers are this Tuesday, and we got the call that Elder Maughan is leaving!! I am so sad. We were having such a good time!! We were doing pretty good missionary work too!

Besides that we went out to Martha and Jorge's on Thursday with a member who just returned from Argentina! So he has helped us out a lot, because we have been having a hard time with the language barrier. Even though they speak good English, it is just better for them to learn in their native tongue. It was really nice because they came to church this Sunday which is a big deal. This is their first time. Whenever we taught Jorge, he would always tell us if he went to church, it would be a catholic church!! But Kary, the member, got them come to hear him speak on Sunday. They told us that they want to come back next week. It has been so cool to see them progress.

We have another member who just got home from the Farmington, New Mexico mission. He has been giving us referrals like crazy. He is having us teach his mom and two sisters, and a few weeks ago during our lesson with his mom, he set his mom with a baptismal date! It is so nice to have two returned missionaries who just load you up with referrals.

Oh besides that, this week we were driving down the road and pulled up next to this guy. I looked over and he just had a parrot sitting on his shoulder haha. I tried whipping out my camera but the bird moved to the other side and you couldn't see it. It was really funny. I thought only in Bawcomville will you see this haha. Anyways I hope all is well for you all!

Zone Conference

It has been a really fun week. So we had zone conference this week and our mission president was there. It was so much fun to see him and get to talk with him. Our mission has been cracking down on exact obedience. So we have these objects in our cars called TIWI. They report to us if we are speeding or driving too aggressively, and at this zone conference we got them upgraded to even better ones. It is funny they apparently report if you're going over 90 mph and if that happens then you would loose you driving privileges.

Also at zone conference I got to see one of my favorite Elders, Elder Tenifa. The entire time we were just laughing and having a good time. He reminds me of a lot of my friends from back home. So that was a lot of fun.

This week Elder Maughan and I have been struggling to get in contact with the people that we have been working with. Luckily this Saturday we were able to visit them all and set some appointments up to come back this week. Also this week, I was able to give my first baptism interview which was really cool. It was so spiritual and fun to see the lady talk about her testimony and just see the happiness in her. I Hope all is well for y'all and that you had a blessed easter.

Missionary work with a returned missionary and a funeral

This week has been really good. We were able to get with a newly returned missionary while he is still in missionary mode. He was taking us around and we taught like 5 of his family members and a few other people that he knows. At first I was like, oh boy I am going to have to deal with this guy for a few months, but then after a bit I realized I actually like him a lot. He is a really cool guy. All he wants is to have his entire family in the gospel, so he has been working with them and us towards their baptism. It was actually really cool. We taught his mom the restoration, and then asked if he could set her with a baptism date! It was very spiritual. But best part is that he would drive us around, and it was bike week. haha

Anyways, the other big thing to mention is that last Sunday, I got asked to give a talk at a funeral. The weird part was, that I didn't even know the lady at all or the guy who asked us to give the talk. So we actually had another appointment at the same time, so we had to do double work that night. So at the funeral the first thing that was funny was the bishop said at the start welcome to the baptism..... then after that, a member of the ward got up and spent about 40 minutes sharing a story that wasn't even about the lady. I felt so bad for the family. The people started to get bored with him speaking. Luckily after he took up most of the time, the lady who was in charge told us to take only a few minutes. So I just was supposed to bear my testimony about my mission and how it has changed my life. It was pretty cool because you don't really think about the changes you have made until you point them out. Anyways that is all from me! Conference Weekend

Hola mis amigos,

It was such a good week for us, we went tracting for a bit and we were able to find a few new investigators! One of them was smoking weed in front of us, so it was pretty cool haha.

Then we had conference so that took a lot of time away from finding people but it was a super good time to be able to hear all of the inspired messages!! The coolest thing was that we were able to get this family, that normally can't attend church because they work on a chicken farm, to go with us. So luckily they were able to get to the Sunday afternoon session. Elder Costa of the seventy talked about his conversion story and why investigators need to take the missionaries serious. I was so happy inside because it was just the talk for that family. We are just waiting for the parents to be on board, and then that family should be baptized!!

Then Sunday night we had to give up the car, so sadly we couldn't go out because of the weather. We were under a tornado watch, but nothing too bad happened where I was. At night me and my companion got to sit outside and just watch the lightning show and it was a lot of fun. Sorry there's not more. I hope that y'all were able to catch conference because it was great!! Anyways I miss y'all and hope that you have a good week.
