This week for me was pretty interesting. So on Tuesday I got to stay in all day because this Elder's companion had his wisdom teeth out and he had been inside for almost 3 weeks, and that Elder was losing his mind. So I relieved him and let him go out and work with my companion, so that he could get out of the apartment.
Then on Wednesday we went to Ridgeland and went on exchanges in my old area! It was great. I got to see a lot of my old friends and members that I got close with! I talked with Chris and it was so nice to see him and talk with him.
On Thursday, on the way back from exchanges we stopped at the Mississippi Food Network and made food boxes with the Female inmates. It is sad/happy because one of them I started talking with is leaving... but I am glad that she is getting out and is going to be able to see her family.
We have been working so hard to try and continue to progress the work here in Clinton. On Saturday we had a lot of miracles happen too! We were able to teach a few lessons and find a few new investigators!! First off we had an appointment in Raymond, which is about 20 miles away with one of our investigators. His name is Kenneth and he is interesting to say the least... He kind of goes off topic and tries to show us that he knows the gospel and sometimes get off topic doing so. But he has such a great heart! He actually came to church this week as our ward mission leader who is a stud went and picked him up. I think he liked church. It is just so hard to tell because most of the other church's are there for entertainment because it is all about the money and the more entertained the people are the more they go. So sad to say, but because of the apostasy and the Catholics, there is a lot of confusion with the gospel. And now days its all about the money.
Besides that on Saturday, we were trying a few referrals and we found this family that knows a lot of Mormons and loves Jesus Christ! Which is great and she was very open. At first she gave off the vibe that she was baptist but as we talked with her she opened up and she said, "Who knows what will happen?" We committed her to pray and ask God if meeting with us was for her.
Then later that night our schedule opened up, so we were faced with the option where we could have gone in a little early and just relaxed, or we could continue to work. And the scripture in Ether 12:6 says that you do not receive a witness until after the trial of your faith. This describes what happened that night. We decided to stay out and started knocking doors at about 7:30. We knocked a few doors and then this one door we knocked on no one answered, so we walked away going to the next house. My companion then saw someone down behind the house and we yelled to her, but she didn't answer or hear us. We yelled again but again, she didn't hear us. When we were about to leave, I just felt like we couldn't just give up on her. So I said let's just walk back there and go talk with her! Which we did, and we were able to teach her the Restoration and it was amazing. She is humble enough to ask God if it is true, which is all that we are asking people to do, to find out for themselves if it is true. It was a great week and we witnessed a ton of miracles!
I hope everyone is doing well and would love to hear from you.
